Volkswagen Vehicle History Registry

VHR helps vehicle owners to track their service history, receive automatic service alerts and get critical information about open safety recalls reported for their car.

The car brand was conceived to be as a lifestyle brand, with a clean-cut design, a people's car character with no luxury pretensions, and a reputation for engineering excellence. Volkswagen produced its first automobile in 1938, a small model called the Volkswagen Type 14, a vehicle with no engine or drivetrain, and with just front and rear wheels. The company produced only 2,037 of these small vehicles and had a low-key launch on 7 October 1939 at a car trade show in Frankfurt, Germany. Volkswagen's Type 14 is viewed by many as the first automobile ever made. It was meant to be a model of low cost, and the name and Volkswagen logo was chosen as a way to represent Volkswagen as a people's car. A full-scale, four-wheeled version, the Volkswagen Type 13, was launched in 1941. Do not forget to use Volkswagen VIN decoder in order to avoid potential problems when buying a used car.
